Joel Romero - Newport Beach, CA

Joel Romero, a graduate of Gladesville College NSW with a degree in Electrical Engineering, has an extensive background that spans 29 years in yacht service and sales. In 1981, Mr. Romero bought Spindrift Marine in Sydney Australia. In 1983, He started JR Marine that specialized in repair and maintenance of larger yachts with diesel engines. 

Mr. Romero then moved to Southern California and established Passagewest Marine Corporation, dba Prime Marine Services - located in Marina Del Rey, California. Prime Marine has built a stellar reputation as a quality, high-end service center for European and American yachts. Prime Marine is an authorized factory warranty and exclusive service center for Sunseeker PDI (preparation, delivery, and inspection) with factory trained and certified technicians for all new Sunseeker Yachts delivered to the West Coast.

In 1995, Mr. Romero received his yacht sales license and has successfully sold new and brokered Yachts throughout the west coast. In 2002, Mr. Romero became a partners with Steve Lehman for California Coast Yachts, Inc. - Sunseeker Yacht Group. Sunseeker Yacht Group is a new and brokerage Yacht sales and service company with exclusive West Coast representation for Sunseeker Yachts. Sunseeker Yacht Group Inc. has been a licensed yacht dealer in the state of California Since 1997 with offices in Newport Beach, San Diego, San Fransisco, Miami, Las Vegas and London.

Scott Bruce - Brokerage Manager, Newport Beach, CA

At a young age, Scott Bruce discovered his love for boating during freshwater boating trips with family and friends. At age 18 he bought his first boat and spent many summers in Catalina, spear fishing with his brother, or water skiing with college friends. It was though these experiences that his passion for boating continued to grow and propelled him into a career within the marine industry. 

In 1996, after receiving his degree from Long Beach State, Mr. Bruce took his first job selling family speed boats. From there, he was hooked; his desire to sell motor yachts pushed him to continue his education in the yachting and marine industry.  In 1997 Mr. Bruce obtained his California State Salesmen license and moved to Newport Beach, CA to sell motor yachts. 

In the spring of 2003 Mr. Bruce became a partner in American Yachts which was eventually bought by Marine Max in 2005. It was then that Mr. Bruce obtained his California State brokers license, became the brokerage manager for 9 Marine Max locations and had 20 salesmen that he was responsible for. After years of selling new Italian motor yachts, Mr. Bruce accepted an offer with Sunseeker Yacht Group as the Brokerage Manager in 2009.  Mr. Bruce has built his career with care and passion for what he does.  His success in the industry is due to his ability to truly listen to the client’s needs and seek out a vessel that best fits those needs.

Mark Lake  - Newport Beach, CA

Mark  was introduced to boating as a child on his father's Chris Craft. By age 8, he was sailing single handed and developed into an accomplished racing skipper. At age 14 he was the youngest person to successfully complete the U. S. Power Squadron’s boater safety course. Soon after, he became a certified SCUBA diver and began his underwater explorations. Inevitably he chose a career in the U.S. Navy where he became part of the nuclear power program on fast attack submarines. In 1982 the Navy brought him to California and with the fabulous weather and boating to be found, it was only natural for California to become his adopted home.

Following his Navy career, Mark became a Realtor for exclusive neighborhoods of California. After years of working on land, he decided to return to his real love, the sea, and embarked on a new career in yacht sales. Since then he has accumulated a great wealth of knowledge specific to yachting in Southern California and added that to his experiences on and under the oceans of the world. He has introduced many newcomers to the joys that can only be found afloat in the yachting lifestyle. He has also used his intimate technical knowledge of navy ships to help experienced yachtsmen create the custom yachts of their dreams.

When the invitation to join the Sunseeker Yacht Group was extended, Mark eagerly accepted for two primary reasons: First, Whenever a Sunseeker comes into port, every head turns in acknowledgment of her stunning beauty. Second, The quality of these yachts is only exceeded by the quality of the people who are the heart of the Sunseeker Yacht Group. Joe Bassett - San Diego, CA

Joe Bassett brings a storied background in yacht sales and sales management to the Sunseeker Yacht Group team. Born into a New England boating family, Joe learned the business from a young age at Bassett Boat Co. and Louis Marine, Ltd. and has held various management positions in the industry over the last seventeen years.

Upon completion of Marketing and International Relations degrees from Univ. of Notre Dame and U.C. San Diego, respectively, Joe briefly joined the MarineMax-San Diego team before finding his home at Sunseeker Yacht Group. Joe now oversees operations of our new San Diego location at 2353 Shelter Island Drive, San Diego, CA 92106.

Robert Allen – San Francisco, CA

Robert has worked in the maritime industry since 1991 driving, maintaining, and selling yachts. Originally from Alaska, he began his career operating sport fishing and tour boats in the far north.

Later, while working on commercial tug boats in Alaska and the West Coast, Robert earned a US Coast Guard 1600 Ton Masters license and a Master of Tow. Baited by warmer waters, Robert then moved to the Caribbean where he captained dive boats, tour boats, and private yachts in the Virgin Islands. In 2006 Robert moved to Northern California and has since specialized in selling, captaining and maintaining luxury yachts.

Roderick Roy - Seattle, WA

Boating and water sports are a natural passion for Roderick. His passion started at a very young age in his homeland, the Fiji Islands, where one of the main means of transportation is by boat.

After completing his sailing license 100 ton master & mate for Fiji Coastal waters he was actively involved in the family business - Bay Cruises & Island Water Sports. The company had exclusive water sports concessions for Sheraton Resorts, Trendwest World Mark Resort on Denarau Island and Vomo Island. The company also owned and operated a certified PADI dive operation with Japanese dive instructors.

While studying in Auckland, New Zealand (host to the America’s Cup) Roderick was exposed to high-end yachts and the boating lifestyle. Having worked for several 5 Star resorts in the Fiji Islands as an Activities Director, his personal interaction and communication around the globe has been an attribute to his career.

Moving to Seattle, WA in 2003 his passion for boating led him to join a Cobalt, Formula and Sunseeker dealer. Working in the service dept he was promoted to sales as the Pre Owned Boat manager and full time sales. He was also active with the local Chaparral Boat dealer which had a wide range of service, parts, storage and pro shop accessories. His responsibilities were in sales promotions, boat show set ups, customer service & new/used boat deliveries. With his excellent customer service background, working for world renowned resort destinations and dealing with elite clientele such as executives of Microsoft, Amazon, Nordstrom, Macy’s and Boeing, the relationship is unique as a Sunseeker client.
